Company Description
Ona Therapeutics is a biotech company located in Barcelona (Parc Científic de Barcelona, PCB), focused on developing first-in-class antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) for advanced cancer treatment. By partnering with leading academics and clinicians, we identify novel therapeutic targets from the unique biology of treatment refractory advanced cancer patients, to provide effective new treatments for patients with no remaining alternatives.

Scope
This is a temporary (1 year from Mid December 2024 to Mid December 2025), on-site role for a Research Purchaser at ONA Therapeutics in Barcelona. The Research Purchaser position oversees purchasing functions within the organization. He/she will be responsible for procuring materials and supplies necessary for research and development activities, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods.

Role and Responsibilities
Purchasing Management:
• Lead purchasing processes and vendor selection to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of laboratory supplies, equipment, and services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify purchasing needs, assess specifications, and develop purchasing strategies aligned with budgetary constraints.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing and contracts, and monitor performance to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with research and development teams to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to protocols and procedures.
• Manage laboratory budgets and purchasing processes, including procurement of supplies, equipment, and reagents.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry) is required.
  • Proven experience in purchasing in laboratory management.
  • Strong experience in lab/reagents purchasing.
  • Strong Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of tasks. This includes coordinating laboratory activities and purchasing processes.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with various stakeholders, including researchers, vendors and regulatory bodies.
  • Fostering effective communication with the ability to problem-solving, facilitating decision-making and driving consensus among diverse groups.
  • Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Languages: Good level of Spanish and English mandatory. Catalan is a plus
